Sea - The surrounding warm sea currents boost the temperature of Waiheke by up to 2 degrees centigrade. Waiheke's warm days (up to 32 degrees C) and mild nights provide the perfect temperature to grow world class grapes.

Sun - The steep slopes that our wines are grown on are lathed in sunshine which concentrates the heat of the sun to maximise ripeness and fruit intensity.

Soil - The soil where our wines are grown is rich in iron and manganese oxide. The combination of wind and soil create a low vigour growing environment where grape vines produce small but concentrated yields of ripe fruit, bursting with intense flavours.

Church Bay Estate’s reserve wines are created from small parcels of vines, tended and harvested by hand, then vinified separately using classic traditional techniques. This creates the elegance, balance and texture that Church Bay Estate wine’s are renowned for.

The Church Bay Estate Syrah can only be described as signature Waiheke Syrah. After 15 long months in barrel, this wine delivers intense red fruit, balanced with dried herbs on the nose. An elegant palate with balanced tannins & lingering finish to warm you through the long winter nights.

Rosé - is a wine style that personifies Island life. Church Bay Estate Rosé is provençe inspired, and is a beautiful blend of Waiheke’s famous Merlot, Malbec and Syrah varietals. Light salmon in colour, the Church Bay Estate Rosé exhibits aroma’s of summer... fresh strawberries and watermelon, with slight floral notes. An elegant wine displaying a dry refreshing finish. Church Bay Estate has a small grove of 150 olive trees. Waiheke’s unique micro-climate of long, dry, hot summers are perfect conditions for ripening olives. Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is hand-picked at the end of summer to ensure the optimum level of ripeness which delivers an Extra Virgin Olive Oil boasting delicious aroma’s of summer with slight peppery undertones.
